Is the IP Play TV app in the App Store the same thing?

No. The similarly named iOS player sold in the App Store is an unrelated third-party application and has nothing to do with an IPPLAYTV subscription. Buying it will not give you channels. On iPhone, iPad and Apple TV we recommend IPTV Smarters Pro or a comparable Xtream Codes player instead.

Which app should I install for IPPLAYTV?

On Firestick and Android, IPTV Smarters Pro is the simplest and TiviMate is the best if you want a proper TV guide. On Samsung Tizen and LG webOS, IBO Player or Smart IPTV. On iPhone, iPad and Apple TV, IPTV Smarters Pro. On Windows and macOS, VLC or IPTV Smarters. On a MAG box, nothing is installed at all — you send us the MAC address.

What do I enter to log in?

Three things, and they are the same in every player: a username, a password, and a server URL — sometimes called the portal or the host. We send all three when your line is activated. Some apps also accept a single M3U link, which bundles the same information into one line.

There is no IPPLAYTV app, and that is deliberate

IPPLAYTV is a subscription, not a piece of software. What you buy from us is a line — a username, a password and a server address that unlock 100,000+ live channels and 290,000+ films and series. That line is then played by an IPTV player app, and there are already excellent ones on every platform.

Providers who ship their own branded app usually ship a worse version of an app that already exists, and then it stops being updated. We would rather you used TiviMate, which has a genuinely good TV guide, than a house-branded clone of it. It also means when you change device, nothing about your subscription changes — you install whatever player that new screen supports and enter the same three details.

About the app with the similar name

If you searched for our app you may have been shown an iOS application with a name close to ours in the App Store. It is not ours. It is an unrelated third-party video player made by a different developer, and buying it gives you no channels, no line and no relationship with us. Nothing prevents you from using it as a player if you like it, but it is not an IPPLAYTV subscription and we cannot support it.

The same goes for the look-alike websites that appeared this month offering "IPPLAYTV downloads". Our only site is ipplaytv.best — the official site check takes four seconds.

Two rules of thumb. Smarters Pro if you want the simplest thing that works everywhere — one interface, live TV, films and series in three tabs. TiviMate if you watch a lot of live television and want a proper grid guide, recordings and multi-view; it is Android only and the good features are paid.

The three details you enter

Whatever player you pick, it asks for the same things:

Username — case sensitive, exactly as we sent it.
Password — same, and do not paste a trailing space.
Server URL — sometimes labelled portal, host or DNS. It is the address your player connects to.

When a player offers you a choice between Login with Xtream Codes API and Load your playlist / M3U URL, choose Xtream Codes. Both work, but the Xtream login pulls the TV guide and organises the on-demand library by season and episode; the M3U option often gives you one enormous flat list. If you only have an M3U link, our setup page has a converter that turns it into the three fields.

Setting it up, step by step

1. Get your credentials

Message us for the 24-hour free trial or order a plan from the pricing page. Say which device you are on and we will send the login already matched to it.

2. Install the player

Use the table above. Install from the device's own app store where possible — Amazon Appstore, Google Play, the Samsung or LG store, the App Store.

3. Pick the Xtream Codes login

Not the M3U option, unless that is all you have.

4. Type the three details exactly

Capital letters matter. Zero is not the letter O. No trailing spaces.

5. Wait for the first load, then test

The first launch takes a minute or two while the channel list and guide download — that is normal and it only happens once. Then open a live channel, open a film, and check the TV guide has filled in. If all three work, you are done.

About APKs

We do not publish an APK and we would be wary of anything advertised as an "IPPLAYTV APK". Install players from the platform's own store, or on a Firestick through the Downloader app using the player developer's official address. A file handed to you in a chat is an unnecessary risk on a device that sits on the same network as everything else you own. There is no feature you gain from a sideloaded copy of an app that is already in the store.

If the player works but the picture does not

Everything buffers. Test the same channel on a phone over mobile data. If that is clean, the problem is your home connection, not the line — a cable to the router fixes more than any setting.
One channel buffers, others are fine. That is a single source. Message us and we will usually point you at an alternative the same day.
No TV guide. You probably logged in with an M3U instead of Xtream Codes. Re-add the line the other way.
It worked yesterday and not today. Restart the device fully — unplug it, not standby. This fixes a surprising proportion of cases.
